"Residence for Life" holds a double meaning for residents of the Judson Palmer Home.
First, the Judson Palmer home provides a supportive and life-enriching experience for mature women through a caring staff, social activities, lovely grounds, and companionship.
Second, when a lady becomes a member of the Judson Palmer family, she will not only be cared for now but for the rest of her life, regardless of her financial means.
We will always take care of her medical expenses, prescription drugs, nursing home care, funeral expenses, as well as her personal need items. We also provide little amenities such as air conditioning and cablevision in each room.
The Judson Palmer Home is a licensed residential care facility. It is a residence home for women of Hancock County age 55 years and better. The home is funded by a private trust created by Judson and Katherine Palmer and is governed by a Board of Trustees.
Judson Palmer Home was listed #1 assisted living in Findlay Ohio for residents' satisfaction, and we have been listed # 8 in the entire State of Ohio for residents' satisfaction survey by the state of Ohio. And, on November of 2014, it received a deficit-free survey from a team of inspectors from the Ohio Department of Health.
Quality of Life
The Judson Palmer Home is not a nursing home. It is a residence home for women of Hancock County 55 years and better. And, it is much more than that.
When a woman becomes a member of the Judson Palmer family, she will not only be cared for now but the rest of her life. Her quality of life will be ensured as we will always take care of her medical expenses, prescription drugs, nursing home care, funeral expenses, as well as her personal care items.
The Judson Palmer Home is a licensed residential care facility designed to be "home" to 16 women, regardless of their financial means. The home is funded by a private trust created by Judson and Katherine Palmer and is governed by a board of trustees. The trustees' only commitment is to provide a quality of life for each woman through a caring home-like atmosphere.
There is a staff of 22, with Nurses providing 24/7 care to the residents assisted by State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA). Each resident has a private room that meets their individual taste, with comfortable, accommodating communal bathrooms on each of the two floors. In the downstairs living room, residents delight in listening to the new baby grand piano that staffers enjoy playing for them. The facility also includes two sun rooms. Three nutritious, delicious meals and a snack are served daily.
Visitors and residents regularly encounter our feline friends Sissy, and Jack patrolling the halls.
Residents are free to come and go as their health permits, but planned social activities both in and out of the home are provided. Personal care services, such as a beautician, are available regularly at the home.
A beautiful rose garden with a charming gazebo sits on part of the lovely grounds, ideal for taking an afternoon stroll or quiet rest.
In short, everything possible is done to enhance the quality of life for each woman at the Judson Palmer Home.

The Judson Palmer facility
The main building of the Judson Palmer Home was built in 1950. Housing only up to 16 residents at any time, the Judson Palmer Home provides its residents an intimate setting that is as close to home as possible.
Expansion of the Judson Palmer Home
Construction of the addition to the Home is well under way! The addition will be the new location of our 16 resident rooms. These rooms have been expanded to include en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, and include amenities such as new televisions, phones, and an upgraded call system.
The addition to the Judson Palmer Home will also house our new and expanded activity room, a new lounge with a fireplace and coffee bar, and a centralized nurses' station.
Finally, our outdoor space is expanding, as well! A covered patio, walking paths, gazebo, and new flower gardens will all add to the quality of life of our residents as well as the beauty of the Home.
A larger parking lot and new front entrance are also among the changes and improvements to the Palmer Home.
